Getting the Buggers to Behave (3rd edition)

Published by: Continuum International Publishing Group
Price: £15.99
ISBN: 0-8264-8912-5

Getting the Buggers to Behave is Sue's best-selling guide to managing behaviour. It has won acclaim from many sections of the educational community for its practical and realistic advice.  The book has been in print for ten years, and has sold over 100,000 copies. Getting the Buggers to Behave has been translated into numerous languages, including Slovene, Spanish and Mandarin. Clearly, students misbehaviour is a concern right around the globe!

Despite its ‘controversial’ title the book now features on a number of Initial Teacher Training courses. If you're after practical advice on that most tricky of subjects - getting kids to behave themselves - then this is the classic text.

Sue says: "When I originally wrote this book, I had no idea of how many teachers would eventually read and use it. Inside the covers, you'll find an honest account of how I believe teachers can get their classes to behave. You might not agree with everything I say - in fact I'd hope that you don't, because each teacher has a style of his or her own. This book is certainly not meant to be a 'blueprint' for creating Stepford children. But hopefully my advice will act as a starting point for you getting your own students, and your own classes, to behave. And at the end of the day, that will leave you free to get on with your real job - the best job in the world - teaching."
